With over two decades of journalism under my belt, my career is marked by an unwavering commitment to uncovering and reporting on the complexities of global politics and international relations. At CNSNews.com, my role as International Editor tapped into my deep expertise in Middle East politics, where I established and managed foreign bureaus, ensuring our audience received informed and timely insights. The drive to deliver compelling news stories honed my skills in research, newswriting, and the strategic oversight of international stringers. Our team's dedication to accuracy and a high standard of journalism uniquely positioned CNSNews.com in the 24-hour news cycle, thanks to our efficient coverage from the Pacific Rim. With the shutdown of CNSNews.com in April 2023, I turned to the other extreme -- from international news to hyperlocal reporting, working for a small company comprising three community newspapers -- Hibiscus Matters, Mangawhai Focus and Mahurangi Matters (which won a national Community Newspaper of the Year title in 2024). I served briefly as editor of Mangawhai Focus and am now back at Hibiscus Matters. Meanwhile I am freelancing and actively remote opportunities that benefit from my extensive experience and dedication to journalistic excellence.

I covered government and politics in South Africa and the Middle East before joining CNSNews.com in 1999. Since then I have launched foreign bureaus for CNSNews.com in Jerusalem, London and the Pacific Rim. From October 2006 to July 2007, I served as managing editor at the organization's headquarters in Alexandria, Va. Now back in the Pacific Rim, as international editor I report on politics, international relations, security, terrorism, ethics and religion, and oversee reporting by international stringers.
Launched, wrote and managed an email news bulletin service for a Christian non-governmental organization based in Jerusalem, building a subscription list of individual and corporate recipients worldwide. Also wrote for print publication offering news and analysis on Middle East current affairs.

As freelance journalist, covered Eastern Cape politics for daily and weekly newspapers, and radio. Participated in a six-month investigative journalism project, researching and writing on the bantustans, corruption, military-security issues, and apartheid “hit squads.”
