Introduction and development of the geotechnical and hydrogeological services and related safety standards for the company's cement and aggregate mining operations, eventually making it a company global standard in raw material management. Consulting of group companies worldwide in geotechnical matters of open pit mining: slope design, slope failure (prevention, analysis & mitigation), waste dump design, geotechnical analysis for mine planning, operation, feasibility studies and due diligence. Compilation and internal reporting of annual global Resources and Reserve status of LafargeHolcim (cement side only) and internal training of local and regional reporting responsible persons. Leading multinational and multidisciplinary project teams for medium- and long-term optimization projects related to raw materials management and optimization as well cement manufacturing (quarry to cement grinding) in North America, Middle East Africa and Asia. Collaboration with Regional and Corporate H&S in geotechnical matters, giving training courses, development of safety standards in mining operation and support in implementation of safety standards in worldwide operations. Carrying out geotechnical hazard identification and risk assessment (HIRA) in the group’s mining operations. Support of group companies in hydrogeological investigations and development of water management concepts for open pit mines. Leading international and multi-cultural project teams including internal as well as external resources (e.g. external experts, laboratories, contractor, etc.) in the mining operations.
Leadership of Corporate Mining Team (Cement): Overseeing and directing the (virtual) corporate mining team, comprised of geologists and mining engineers. Talent Management for Raw Materials Expertise: Identify high-potential raw material experts (geology and mining) within the Holcim Group, facilitate their professional development in collaboration with their respective management teams, and implement strategies to retain this talent within the company. Oversight of Geological and Operational Mining Activities: Manage the team's geological activities, encompassing exploration, deposit modeling, evaluation and optimization, and mine planning. Operational aspects, including heavy mobile and crushing equipment, contract reviews, and drilling, blasting, loading, and hauling operations. Key Liaison for Raw Materials: Serve as the primary point of contact for raw material-related inquiries from various stakeholders, including Group Finance, Internal Audit, CAPEX projects, Procurement, Health & Safety, Aggregates, and Sustainable Development.
In LafargeHolcim's corporate technical service responsible for geotechnical and hydrogeological related issues in the cement and aggregate mining areas of the global LafargeHolcim operations. This includes development of slope designs for mine planning as well as Resource & Reserve estimations, slope stability and groundwater monitoring concepts, coordination and supervision of geotechnical and hydrogeological work jointly with regional and local teams as well as 3rd parties, development of group-wide standards. Development and update of group-wide safety procedures and practices in cement and aggregate mining areas in collaboration with corporate and regional H&S. Responsible for compilation and internal reporting of annual global Resources and Reserve status of LafargeHolcim (cement side) and internal training of local and regional reporting responsible persons. Leading multinational specialist project teams for medium- and long-term optimization assignments over several months related to raw materials as well cement manufacturing (quarry to cement grinding).
