In my current position, I am in charge of developing and implementing a central planning tool. This involves consolidating information to increase efficiency, minimize manual processes and reduce errors. The aim is to create real-time transparency in order to be able to react quickly to changes, improve decision-making through targeted and coherent data analysis and achieve cost optimization by identifying inefficiencies. In addition, the implementation should promote better collaboration within the organization.
• Product and Industry Knowledge: In-depth understanding of the offshore geotechnical survey industry. Effectively communicate the value proposition to customers. • Technical Consultation: Conduct technical consultations to understand customer requirements and recommend suitable solutions. Collaborate with technical experts to address client queries and concerns. • Proposal Development: Create comprehensive proposals outlining product specifications, benefits, and pricing. Customize proposals based on client needs and project requirements. • Negotiation: Engage in negotiations with clients to reach mutually beneficial agreements on pricing, terms, and conditions. Address concerns and objections to ensure successful deal closures. • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate technical, commercial, and legal risks associated with offshore survey projects. • Sales Presentations: Develop and deliver compelling sales presentations to showcase the features and benefits of our services. Build confidence in the offerings. • Project Coordination: Collaborate with internal teams, including project managers and engineers, to ensure the successful implementation of offshore geotechnical survey solutions. Coordinate with logistics and delivery teams to meet project timelines. • Client Relationship Management: Understand the unique needs of clients and provide tailored solutions to enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty. Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients. • Market Research: Stay informed about competitors and market dynamics. Provide feedback to the product development team based on market demands and customer feedback. • Sales Reporting: Maintain accurate records of sales activities, including client interactions, proposals, and closed deals. Generate regular sales reports for management review.
Engineering related tasks: • Planning of an exploration campaign (drill location and wellbore finishing) for a major train tunnel project in the Zurich area in collaboration with civil engineers. • Running core description, evaluate and interpret well-, flowmeter- and dilatometertests as well as chemical and mechanical rock analysis. • Geological and hydrogeological interpretation and drawing of geological crosssections along the tunnel axis. Environmental related tasks: • Planning and running remediation projects on disposal and industrial sites with organic and inorganic contaminants. • Writing reports and procedural concepts for construction site managers, architects and the competent authority.
• Conduct seismic interpretation (well to seismic tie using check shot data; fault & horizon interpretation; extraction of amplitude maps; time to depth conversion) (Petrel) • Structural-, facies- and petrophysical modelling of clastic reservoirs (including the generation of a workflow in Petrel for rock typing) • Generating structural and subsurface maps with the subsequent properties: reservoir isopach, N/G, porosity, water saturation, gross & net oil (gas) isopach (Petrel) • Volume calculations for either fully interpreted accumulations or areas with high structural uncertainty (REP5) • Provide support to reservoir engineers by generating well correlations and cross sections (Petrel) • Basics in petrophysical log interpretation • Collaboration with different departments (Reservoir engineers / Petrophysics / Geophysics / Data management) • Sequence stratigraphy
Continuation and deepening of the research project started as part of my MSc thesis in the field of Biogeochemistry. This research gives new insights into the paleoclimate reconstruction by analyzing a sediment core of the Iberian margin. Main tasks included: • Refining of a young research field (grain size-specific analysis) and implementation and improvement of new methods in this area. • Processing and interpretation of generated data and writing of reports. One scientific paper is currently under review. • Analytical lab work (biomarker analysis using HPLC, GC-FID, GC-MS and carbon isotope measurement with IRMS and AMS).
• Attend a remediation project to decontaminate the foundation beneath a petrol station. • Electrical resistivity tomography and data analysis for depth determination of aquifers. • Well construction: applying the down-the-hole hammer drill method; casing, fixation of a filter system and installation of a pump.
