A junior doctor with a Masters in Anthropology and a strong academic foundation, I’m passionate about pursuing a career in academic dermatology, with a particular focus on research and the role of digital health in transforming skin diagnostics and care. Throughout medical school and early clinical practice, I’ve been driven by a desire to combine research, education, and clinical excellence. My academic journey has included multiple research publications across dermatology, public health, medical education, and women’s health. I’ve co-authored projects exploring patient education tools in dermatology (including delusional infestation), and worked on improving resources related to menstrual health and period pain—areas where evidence-based communication can make a significant impact on patient outcomes. My current focus is on early skin disease detection and how we can use digital tools—from teledermatology platforms to AI-assisted image analysis—to improve access to timely, accurate diagnoses. I’m particularly interested in how smartphone-based dermoscopy and algorithmic triage can be safely implemented in NHS workflows to support both patients and clinicians. Beyond research, I am committed to medical education and health equity. I’ve been involved in widening participation work, mentoring aspiring medical students from underrepresented backgrounds, and creating inclusive, accessible educational content through initiatives like FirstGenDocs. My academic interests are always grounded in impact, for example, how can we translate insights from the lab, clinic, or field into real-world improvements for patients and practitioners? Looking ahead, I hope to pursue specialty training in dermatology and contribute to the field through academic posts that allow me to integrate research, teaching, and clinical practice. My long-term vision is to lead research at the intersection of digital health and health system innovation, particularly in underserved communities. If you’re working on projects related to skin cancer, AI in dermatology, public health innovation, or digital diagnostics, I’d love to connect.
