I am committed to equity and social justice, which is evidenced through my career by challenging and tackling discrimination in organisational and community settings. Currently working freelance for the Rio Ferdinand Foundation During 2021 I have worked on Gender and Ethnicity Pay Gap for methods.co.uk. I started in administration in the public sector in 1980. Spent 20 years in sport and leisure facilities management then moved into policy, strategy and inclusion in the same field. Having worked in equality and diversity for over 30 years of my career - mainly in the public sector. I bring practical experience of working in: Sport & Leisure, Education, Libraries, Youth & Community, Adult Education, Community Services, Sandwell Direct (Planning, Highways & Housing), Further Education, Health, Local, Regional, National and International Events. I bring considerable knowledge and experience of networking, working with partners, being a critical friend, community engagement and empowerment, bringing people with me, working with front of house to board level. I have worked in further, higher and community education. having taught, given talks and managed a community education programme. Drawn down funding and managed a budgets between £100,000 to £1m. Managed a training and capacity building business for nearly 10 years and associated activities successfully. I have a positive and flexible approach to work. I am a good communicator both verbal and written, I have strong leadership and people skills, have the ability to self manage as well as working as part of a team. The ability to develop and manage budgets and quality processes. I think strategically and can turn policy into practice.. I am a reflective practitioner and am fluent in speaking Punjabi, Hindi and Urdu.
