Provides creative leadership and strategic direction in the area of administrative computing for the Faculty of Kinesiology and Physical Education, including academic and administrative staff, students, and other clients.
• Provided advice and direction on technology policies and issues to a large complex organization under tight timelines, budgets and competing priorities • Prepared project budgets, timelines and service impact assessments and tracked performance and costs during, at conclusion, and during the lifecycle of provided services • Managed a 5 site network with 100+ direct support clients, 700+ indirect support clients and significant enterprise infrastructure • Supervised technical support staff, project specific staff, contractors, external vendors and cross-unit staff teams • Transitioned department from an unmanaged environment to a secure, managed system including comprehensive security, backup and support • Implemented enterprise-wide IT management, including disaster recovery and the integration of several existing incompatible systems • Implemented best-of-breed virtualization technologies to lower costs and improve hardware utilization • Integrated and redeveloped the College web presence over several generations • Reduced indirect client (student) service call volume by approximately 90% through improved documentation and self-help resources • Initiated cooperative pilots and projects with other Colleges
• Provided advice and direction to various small and medium businesses on information technology acquisition, utilization and services • Implemented technology solutions to suit the varied needs of clients based on requirements analysis and within budget constraints
• Managed program, course and student administration for a growing (150+ students) university program • Developed program procedures and implemented new tracking and recordkeeping methods, some of which were implemented college-wide • Developed and updated program website in HTML, CSS and Javascript as well as managing internal and externally hosted communication listservs
• Performed statistical and performance analysis on ongoing research projects and worker case data • Developed (in VBA) database automation applications to aid in funding credit review and analysis of departmental performance • Reviewed existing literature and liaised with researchers regarding cooperative child welfare research projects
