I am a Research Specialist specializing in visual analytics, renewable energy profiling, and climate data modeling, with a passion for transforming complex environmental datasets into actionable insights. My work focuses on designing interactive decision-support tools that empower policymakers, energy planners, and maritime operations to optimize resource planning and emergency response for a sustainable future. At King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST), I develop cutting-edge frameworks to analyze solar/wind energy potential and ocean systems using high-performance computing (HPC), spatiotemporal visualization, and AI-driven forecasting. Key achievements include: ▸ Renewable Energy Analytics Geospatial profiling of solar irradiance (GHI/DNI/DHI) & wind power using WRF-Solar reanalysis models Interactive dashboards (Leaflet/D3.js) for TMY data, variability analysis, and energy scenario planning NEOM collaboration: Simulated renewable infrastructure for smart city energy transitions (EuroVA 2023) ▸ Ocean Data & Maritime Tools Led development of GAGAN SBAS messaging system for precision navigation and emergency message broadcasting. Created an ocean data validation & visualization support tool for hydrodynamic model verification. Designed a maritime search-and-rescue aid tool integrating real-time currents/wind forecasts to find 64 different type of objects on the ocean. I thrive at the intersection of climate science, geospatial analytics, and HPC, bridging research with real-world applications—from clean energy transitions to lifesaving maritime technologies. My tools have processed 40+ years of climate data on KAUST’s SHAHEEN supercomputer, supporting both strategic planning and operational decisions.
Developed interactive, web-based dashboards to analyze solar, wind, and weather parameters for the NEOM region, enhancing data visualization and stakeholder decision-making. Designed and implemented a sub-seasonal forecasting system incorporating weather parameters, enabling improved predictive insights and resource planning. Created a comprehensive drought monitoring platform to explore hydrological, hydrometeorological, and agricultural drought metrics, improving real-time assessment and mitigation strategies. Collaborated with cross-functional teams to optimize data ingestion, modeling, and visualization workflows, ensuring accuracy and scalability. Applied cutting-edge data analytics and visualization tools (e.g., Python, JavaScript frameworks, geospatial libraries) to develop robust, user-friendly dashboard interfaces.
GAGAN ENABLED MARINER’S INSTRUMENT FOR NAVIGATION & INFORMATION (GEMINI), a Satellite Based Emergency Warning/Alert Message Broadcast Service. India became the First Country to Launch Such a Service. SEARCH AND RESCUE AID TOOL (SARAT), developed for the Indian Coast Guard, Navy and coastal Security Police in their search operations at sea to minimize loss of life, injury, and property damage. Forecast Assessment & Support Tool, a comprehensive Decision support system to provide highly accurate forecasts compared to international counterparts like NOAA, JTWC etc. especially at extreme conditions like cyclones. Handling the Security Aspects of Development, Redesigning the existing applications against CDAC Security Auditing, Developing highly secured Applications for Users like Indian Coast Guard, Indian Navy etc.
Currently working as Semantics/IR Engineer in veda semantics PVT LTD under emudhra consumer services in Research and Development Team. We work with research oriented proof of concepts where we proved semantically relevant information to the end user.
Being a Software Developer at Cogknit, i have worked on Semantic search using ontologies and reasoning on the knowledge base. As an Information Retrieval (IR) Engineer, I have also worked on topicization where we have attempted to extract major topics from documents. I have also worked on semantic search where we use heuristics to the search criteria to provide the context to the user given query.
