For November 2016 election cycle: Managed a team of regional organizers who recruit, manage and train volunteers and fellows. After Reading and West Philadelphia, PA, I traveled to Durham, NC for the same responsibilities at the North Carolina Democratic Party to GOTV. Other responsibilities included: -Developing regional organizing plans that reflect the needs and realities of our communities -Oversee the hiring, training, and management of organizers -Coaching organizers to develop neighborhood teams -Coordinating organizing management -Ensuring data integrity -Facilitating and evaluating region-wide events -Orchestrating earned media opportunities -Building relationships with local political and community leaders
Production and editing of written material, including press releases, statements, emails, social media, Set up press conferences, Schedule TV, radio, print and online interviews, Production and editing of photographs, Create media events, Develop and maintain press relations and Crisis communications. Produce and edit extensive weekly email newsletters and special email blasts to communicate important civic issues directly to the public, including City Hall Update, Oakland in the News, Oakland Events, Mayor Quan's Blog, with consideration of SEO, click-through rates and other analytics. Newsletter is sent directly to over 15,500 citizens, sent to tens of thousands more through distribution to scores of neighborhood list-serves, promoted and shared with many more on social media via Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
