The responsibilities lie on building and operating a high-performing team to design the entire Technology area workflow, define portfolio rules and gateways, construct the technology-surveillance structure and create the technology roadmaps. Also before that, i was in charge for 4.5 years of the medium and long therm Corporate Strategy of Ecopetrol including the development of roadmaps for success and resilience of the O&G business and building the diversification plan into other businesses such as Electricity Value Chain, Nature Based Solutions and Hydrogen. Some of the projects led and developed by my team were: Updated the Corporate Strategy, Updated international E&P Strategy for Ecopetrol, Energy Transition strategy, Decarbonization strategy, Revamped (T)ESG strategy, Diversification Roadmap, within many others. Key Results: • Taking the relationship with the biggest client in Colombia beyond the back office interactions developing a pipeline of ~40MUSD of new projects, as well as leading the delivery of the biggest contract in Colombia in the past 5 years. • Transitioning from a single client portfolio in 2024 to a multiclient pipeline for 2025-2026 in energy, utilities and infrastructure, developing a pipeline of ~65MUSD of new projects. • Redefining the pyramid and evaluation process for the consulting service line by implementing an objective and fact base process.
Led the creation of a new utilities and value-creation platform through Science, Technology & Innovation (STI), aimed at enabling USD 20–30B in EBITDA over 20 years. Responsible for building and leading a high-performance team managing the full STI lifecycle, identifying initiatives, managing a USD 90M annual CAPEX portfolio, and developing long-term strategic partnerships. As Vice President's second-in-command, additional responsibilities encompass providing support to various departments with their initiatives, alongside overseeing the management of special projects. Key Achievements: • Redesigned the IT operating model and customer service operations (infrastructure, operations, product development and support), improving business alignment and customer satisfaction, achieving USD 3.2B in cumulative savings over five years. • Led the organizational redesign and cultural transformation of the Vice Presidency (~400 employees and ~1,200 contractors). • Designed and launched the commercialization strategy for proprietary technologies, creating a potential USD 10M annual revenue portfolio.
Development and implementation of the Group Corporate Strategy and Business Plan ensuring the involvement of all the business units, corporate areas, and subsidiaries; led of special projects aimed to ensure the successful design and implementation of the Corporate Strategy and its goals. Selected projects: • Developed of the Corporate Strategy 2021-2040, stretching the previews strategy 10 more years, led for the first time inhouse without external leadership, aimed to incorporate Energy Transition and Climate Change risks and opportunities and the definition of the portfolio diversification • Developed the decarbonization strategy, goals and roadmap, ensuring profitability in the short term, and alignment with the Colombian and Paris Agreement commitments • Designed the strategic framework for the acquisition of ISA, 2nd largest in Latinamerica and top 10 worldwide in the last 5 years, ensuring the value proposition in the transaction for Ecopetrol and the equity story within the Corporate Strategy given that it was the first transaction of its kind in the world • Defined next steps for diversification beyond O&G, ensuring capturing opportunities in the Electricity Industry and Energy Transition, but ensuring to take the competitive advantages that Ecopetrol and Colombia have today and might have in the future • Revamped the ESG strategy, updating it from a reporting point of view towards value creation and competitive advantage, designing a new approach for Material Elements differentiated management, and incorporating Technology and Innovation as a foundation of the strategy execution • Developed the Integrated Gas Strategy • Developed the internal view of Energy Transition for Ecopetrol • Revamped the international E&P strategy • Designed several decision-making frameworks and processes (i.e. New Ventures, Diversification of Portfolio), ensuring to incorporate strategic value of the opportunities and different layers of value creation to the discussion.
