Oyewole Faith Opeyemi is a first-class graduate of International Relations with proven strengths in research, leadership, and community engagement and a strong interest in Diplomacy, Sustainable Develoment and Cross-Cultural collaboration. Her academic journey has been defined by excellence with active involvement in student leadership, serving as President of the National Association of Political Science Students (JABU Chapter). In this role, she coordinated academic and extracurricular initiatives that fostered student engagements, collaboration, critical thinking, and informed discourse. Her research interests span international relations, sustainable development, and global governance, with additional passions in creativity, entrepreneurship, and fashion innovation exploring how culture, design and storytelling can inspire innovation and empower communities. This multidisciplinary perspective allows her to approach challenges with both analytical rigor and creative problem-solving. She brings a record of academic distinction, organizational leadership, and entrepreneurial curiosity, and is eager to apply these experiences in roles that require strategic thinking, innovation, and cross-sector collaboration.
▪︎ Conducted an in-depth study on The Paris Agreement and Nigeria’s Sustainable Development: Catalyst or Barrier to National Progress? ▪︎ Applied qualitative research methods, including five anonymized interviews, to analyze Nigeria’s climate policy commitments. ▪︎ Produced a thesis that critically assessed international agreements in relation to national progress, sustainable development and policy effectiveness.
▪︎ Led 150+ members in academic and extracurricular initiatives, strengthening collaboration and student participation in governance and development-focused discussions. ▪︎ Organized seminars, debates and capacity-building programs that increased member engagement. ▪︎ Fostered partnerships with student associations across other departments, expanding the network for political and academic exchange. ▪︎ Oversaw executive operations, ensuring smooth coordination of projects and events.
