Achievements ● Installation and commissioning of SGT300 Turbine in Flour Mill Agbara Factory. ● Lead the Electrical Project Team for Wartsila (1X4.5MW) Generating Plant in 2018 at Flour mills of Nig. Plc, Apapa. ● Achieved 100 days without Power outage between 2014 and 2017 in Nestle Nigeria Plc Agbara Factory. ● Reduced Quarterly R & M Cost of Generator Maintenance by 25% in 2015 through the use of in-house maintenance team to carry out quarterly maintenance of Wartsila generator instead of EOM Service Engineers. ● Development of effective maintenance task lists for Substations equipment in Flour Mills of Nig. Plc and its subsidiaries in 2017 thereby improving the predictive maintenance capability. ● Development of root cause Analysis (RCA) for both generation and distribution respectively to optimize the operational and maintenance efficiency. ● Lead plant operational excellence (Opex) for optimum performance in power plant - Flour Mills of Nig. Plc, April 2019 till date.
• Design, Install and Manage power plant’s activities and Projects in FMN, GSC and Tin Can. • Coordinate all Technical, operations, maintenance, repairs and overhaul of Power Plant equipment for maximum capacity utilization in FMN, GSC and TinCan. • Ensure the availability of spares for effective running of the Plants and avoid / reduce overstocking. • Plan, organize, direct and run optimum day-to-day operations and maintenance activities in the Plant to exceed our customers’ expectations. • Ensure assets capacity availability, reliability and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining current quality standards. • Allocate resources effectively and fully utilize assets to produce optimal results. • Implement strategies in alignment with strategic initiatives and provide a clear sense of direction and focus. • Develop plant workforce capacity and regularly train to meet existing and emerging challenges. • Develop systems and processes that track and optimize productivity and standards, metrics and performance targets to ensure effective return on assets. • Install, commission and complete life cycle maintenance of the Apapa Power plant heat recovery boilers, excluding the GSC WHR boilers. • Perform cost benefit analysis of the power plant projects. • Oversee scheduled turbine GG/PT (24000 / 48000hrs) replacement and other major jobs in conjunction with Siemens. • Oversee Wartsila projects installations, expansions and software upgrading to derive maximum output, efficiency, and reliability. • Manage crane transport system in Apapa and GSC and other relevant utilities. • Coordinate large-scale overhaul of engines – turbines, wartsilas and plant auxiliaries. • Ensure a progress report is prepared for the projects monthly. • Manage the allocation of all expenditures to clearly defined assets and the entry into the assets register. • Commit to plant safety procedures and safety of workforce.
• Monitors and oversees 70MW captive generating plant viz a viz Siemens SGT400 and EGT 300 turbines, Jenbacher gas and diesel engines, CAT 3616, Wartsila W9L34DF, Heat recovery boiler plant. • Oversees managers, supervisors and teams of operating engineers, boiler operators, prioritizes, assigns and follows up on required tasks throughout the plant. • Identifies ongoing energy conservation measures and further advances Flour Mills of Nig. Plc current position as a leader in Environmental Sustainability. • Provides recommendations on emerging technology, trends, legislative changes and industry best practices. • Establishes and monitors annual goals and objectives to ensure ongoing improvements in customer service, operational efficiency, cost effectiveness, safety and compliance. • Regularly interacts with approved consultants, suppliers and service providers. Coordinates contracted services and manages a variety of projects. • Plan, organize, direct and run optimum day-to-day operations to provide a “knock your socks off” experience for our clients – production plant. • Allocate resources effectively and fully utilize assets and manpower to produce optimal results. • Implement strategies in alignment with strategic initiatives and provide a clear sense of direction and focus. • With a focus on continuous improvement, collect and analyze data to find places of waste or cost savings • Responsible for the ongoing workforce planning and recruitment support, and with considerable focus on future resource planning as business needs change and evolve. • Deliver an exceptional onboarding experience for new hires and motivate and provide support to employees. • With a strong understanding of safety measures (including all safety regulations/applicable laws), ensures constant safety of asset, people and environment. • Develop systems and processes that track and optimize productivity and standards, metrics and performance targets to ensure effective return on assets.
• Implement the maintenance and improvement (M&I) plans and objective in accordance with the best standards. • Actively participates in organization and scheduling of annual overhaul of power plant assets and facilities. • Oversees the technical store inventory management for optimum support of the operations • Improves efficiencies by increasing preventative maintenance across the plant and to minimize breakdowns and reduce mean time between failures. • Monitors and controls maintenance budget. • Establishes and maintains productive relationships with plant team, internal customers, peers & suppliers • Builds and re-reinforces relationships with Production, Quality Assurance & Production Planning.
Ensure the availability of regular and stable power supply from power plant at normal voltage (11KV). Ensure effective power distribution to all sections of the company/subsidiary of 11KV by means of high voltage switch gears. Ensure engagement of necessary protective interlock and other safety devices simultaneously during switching operations. Monitor the power intake meters at the intake position to track consumption. Conduct power factor corrections. Supervise all electrical maintenance installations and servicing of machinery including switchgear, transformers, circuit breakers, etc. within company, its subsidiaries and residential quarters to prevent or repair breakdown. Schedule and respond to all emergency breakdowns relating to power supply in order to restore power as quickly as possible. Ensure the compliance of electrical maintenance jobs to relevant safety regulating within work areas to prevent accidents. Carry out material requisition for all electrical maintenance jobs to ensure availability of materials for efficient operation. Coach and train subordinate staff to improve their quality of work.
▪ Initiates effective maintenance programme for all utility equipment in Industrial services department. − Generators (Diesel and Gas). − Boilers (Gas and Diesel) – Loos Boilers. − Atlas Copco Air Compressors (Air-cooled and Water-cooled). − Reciprocating and Vacuum Absorption Chillers. − Cooling-towers, AHUs, etc. to ensure their maximum performance. ▪ Supervises the operation and maintenance of − Wartsila dual fuel generators (9L34DF; 2x3.8MW) and CAT3516 generator. − Loos fire tube boilers. − Reciprocating chillers, Vacuum absorption chiller (VAC) and Air handling units (AHUs). − Atlas Cop Air compressors. ▪ Maintenance of cooling towers for optimum performance. ▪ Examines the performance standard of factory installations, machines and facilities, analyses breakdowns, repairs and takes steps/adopts measures for reducing frequency of breakdowns ▪ Executes general services maintenance programme and all unforeseen breakdown maintenance and repairs to the best engineering standards at minimum costs ▪ Organizes and controls the keeping of equipment performance records, labor and material usage, logbooks etc. ▪ Set standards for spare parts, determine relevant stock levels and organize for their replacement through overseas and local orders. ▪ Execute new installations, modifications according to plan, ensure standards, write operational procedures for new and existing equipment and train the users. ▪ Ensure that the Industrial Services are operated, maintained, distributed and inspected in accordance with all internal and external standards, regulations and audits. ▪ Ensure that the documentation is always up to date and both legal and Nestlé compliant. I.e. Flow diagrams, HVAC Schematics, P&IDs, log sheets, equipment records, operating permits etc. ▪ Supervision and coordination of electrical maintenance and project work by electricians and contractors.
▪ Ensure the safety of High Tension and low voltage operation in Industrial Services. ▪ Ensure servicing and repairing all MV and LV panels in Industrial services ▪ Ensure Operation and Maintenance of Wartsila 9L34DF (Dual Fuels) engines. ▪ Ensure transmission, distribution and motoring of Power through SCADA. ▪ Supporting the powerhouse operator in the efficient operation and supply of power to the factory. ▪ Troubleshooting and Maintaining faults in all electrical utilities (Generators, Boilers, Compressors, Chillers, Electrical Motors, Air Handling Units, etc. in Industrial services.
