Türkiye-EU Business Dialogue (TEBD) Team Leader
Oversaw a series of high profile EU-funded projects with the aim of bolstering the competitive position of Turkey’s private sector and integrating EU and Turkish business communities. Responsible for business development and project management in particular innovation, access to finance for SMEs, venture capital, entrepreneurship, and EU Framework Programmes: HORIZON 2020, COSME Programmes, European Investment Bank, European Investment Fund. Developed and coordinated the largest SME Project in Turkey with €59 million budget and established “European Turkish Business Centres (ABİGEMs)” located in 19 provinces of Turkey. Liaised with stakeholders in a multicultural environment to understand and business processes, priorities, and interpret needs in order to identify requirements across all affected areas and translate these into operational and application requirements. Facilitated delivery of project objectives. Conducted projects’ steering committee and advisory committee meetings, regional, national and international consultation meetings and clear communication between all stakeholders. Established a great network of NGOs, public and private sector authorities, business accelerators, investors, borrowers and financial instutions in the UK and Turkey. Actively participated to business development process, and as necessary in the identification of sound business opportunities via detailed market research by methodical approach and strong organizational capabilities. Undertaken key financial analysis, including financial modelling and, strategic road maps, project progress reports, regional action plans, competitiveness and sustainability reports and provided monthly performance reviews. Represented Turkish private sector and Chambers on Eurochambres Innovation Committee, the Advisory Committee of HORIZON 2020; drafted views in a high quality format and negotiated policy and green papers prepared by European Commission or other related parties.
Managed the Hedge Funds of QUMMIF which has responsibility for £50k of investments under the supervision of an experienced board of directors. This fund involves with two teams, including two lead analysts and fourteen analysts.
Produced an array of presentation materials ahead of client meetings, covering topics such as strategic alternatives, capital markets activity and corporate finance. Leveraged various methodologies, including discounted cash flow, leveraged buyout, trading comparables and transaction comparables to perform accurate, insightful valuation analysis. Actively involved in credit and corporate analysis and every transaction execution stage, from pitch through to closing complex risk management transactions with large corporate clients.
