About

Hi I'm Owen, a mathematics PhD student at the University of Warwick funded by the Heilbronn Doctoral studentship. My focus is on Number Theory - specifically Diophantine Approximation. In the summer, I graduated from the University of Oxford with a Master’s degree in Mathematics, achieving the 3rd highest overall mark in my cohort and a grade of a Distinction. In summer 2023 I co-authored a paper on Fibonacci Partitions (https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0022314X23002329) with Dr Sam Chow. The following year, I discussed my research at two conferences: the British Conference of Undergraduate Research and the International Conference of Undergraduate Research. Aside from my maths ability, I am a confident communicator; I have worked as a student ambassador as well as a telephone interviewer, and I completed an internship as a secondary school teacher.
