Thesis title: "Pharmacological modulation of SOX18 transcription factor activity in development and disease". The main goal of my doctorate was to validate novel drug targets and screen for small molecule inhibitors of a transcription factor in the context of cardio-vascular development and tumour metastasis. I developed a complete pipeline of in vitro assays and in vivo model systems to obtain novel lead compounds; integrating HTS, high content imaging, reporter gene assay, toxicity readouts, various -omics tools, mouse disease models and ADME.
