I am a qualified UK ๐ฌ๐ง (England & Wales) barrister-at-law, fluent in French ๐ซ๐ท, German ๐ฉ๐ช and Spanish ๐ช๐ธ. With more than 30 years' experience in EU governance, administration and processes as well as in international administration, consultancy and the corporate mining sector, I am focused on strategic advice and advocacy in reputation management, sustainability and multi-sector partnerships for public, private and not-for-profit corporations in achieving impactful outcomes. In 1990s I was a consultant operating from Quito, Ecuador ๐ช๐จ, identifying and implementing improvements to the financial and operational infrastructure for clients in Latin America including two gold mining projects in Mexico ๐ฒ๐ฝ. Five years spent at the European Commission ๐ช๐บ in Brussels as Head of Section working on a technical assistance programme, including providing guidance and support to the governments of Estonia ๐ช๐ช, Latvia ๐ฑ๐ป and Lithuania ๐ฑ๐น both pre and post accession to the EU ๐ช๐บ. In other roles, I have advised the CEO and Board on political and public affairs strategy for a Toronto-listed company, working on issue resolution and ESG matters as well as government relations and media communications for their flagship gold and silver mining project in Romania ๐ท๐ด. I have also managed regulatory affairs at Glencore International in Zug, Switzerland๐จ๐ญ, where I supported its licence to operate for its nickel and cobalt divisions including ex officio board roles at both the Nickel Institute (global nickel trade body) and Cobalt Institute (global cobalt trade body). After which, I founded my own Zug-based company (SOS-Consult GmbH). During that time, I was: - An OECD delegate in Paris working on responsible mineral supply chains in Africa in 2018 and 2019. - Instrumental in developing an advocacy process enabling European nickel producers to successfully qualify for the first time for state aid under the EU Emissions Trading Scheme (EU ETS) from 2021. Lastly, I worked for a leading Swiss global tech-based procurement company as an Expert on legal sourcing. There I handled legal contracting and commercial negotiations for both Swiss and international legal suppliers at C-Suite level for a global Swiss bank between 2022 and 2025. I am still open to work although now officially retired as of the end of 2025.

As Sourcing Legal Expert my role involved: - Providing dedicated managed support to a global Swiss bank in Legal Services Sourcing by fostering early collaboration and strengthening partnerships with key law firms. - Maintaining strong relationships with external business partners while building and managing a preferred supplier network. - Offering legal procurement support for other client accounts including coordination of commercial, operational and legal aspects within cross functional teams. - Acting as a central coordinator for the global legal team serving as the primary contact for stakeholders on all legal-related matters including collaboration with internal Chain IQ teams.

Energy & Climate Change Committee member in Brussels at Eurometaux - since Feb. 2026, now called European Metals - (European non-ferrous metals association) and an OECD delegate in Paris with responsibility for looking at mineral supply chains in Africa. Instrumental in enabling European nickel producers to successfully qualify for the first time for state aid under the EU Emissions Trading Scheme (ETS) - the EUโs cap-and-trade carbon market where EU producers pay for carbon dioxide emissions - from 2021-30. Prevented the unwarranted classification of a chemical as a โSubstance of Very High Concernโ by the EU chemicals regulator (ECHA) ensuring its continued and safe licence to operate and market. Company closed down due to global COVID pandemic restrictions.
