Senior Civil / Transportation Engineer in civil works, road design and general civil engineering construction.
I joined LANDEV Consulting as a Senior Design Engineer and have since progressed into the role of Principal Engineer, with responsibility for the technical leadership and delivery of civil and transport infrastructure projects across their full lifecycle, from concept design through to construction and asset vesting. Key Tasks and Responsibilities: • Preparing Infrastructure Assessment Reports and undertaking drainage design for stormwater, wastewater, and potable water networks • Managing and obtaining Engineering Plan Approvals (EPA) in coordination with relevant authorities • Undertaking construction monitoring and supervision, including pre-construction meetings, regular and final site inspections, to ensure works were delivered in collaboration with Auckland Council and Watercare engineers and in accordance with approved designs, specifications, and health and safety requirements. • Managing and leading a team responsible for producing and validating dry and wet utilities as-built documentation for the City Rail Link (CRL) project, including coordinating and liaising with engineers, surveyors, and service authorities/suppliers to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery • Undertaking geometric road design to applicable standards and guidelines • Preparing earthworks cut-and-fill assessments, along with Erosion and Sediment Control (ESC) Plans in accordance with regulatory requirements • Undertaking flood modelling and overland flow path assessments to identify flood risks and inform resilient design outcomes • Preparing Traffic Assessment Reports to support resource consent and development approvals • Designing detention tanks and on-site stormwater mitigation measures • Managing asset vesting to Auckland Council by obtaining Watercare Certificates of Acceptance (CoA) and Auckland Council Engineering Approval Completion Certificates (EACC)
I joined GHD as a Transportation Design Engineer, where my role focused primarily on geometric road design and detailed drafting for a range of transport infrastructure projects. I was involved across multiple stages of project delivery, from early concept development through to detailed design, working closely with senior engineers, clients, and other disciplines. In addition to geometric design, my responsibilities included: • Undertaking and contributing to Road Safety Audits at various design stages • Preparing Offers of Services and supporting fee proposals and project scoping activities • Developing construction cost estimates and supporting financial assessments • Preparing and maintaining project risk registers to identify, assess, and manage design and construction risks • Conducting traffic and pedestrian observations and analysis to inform design decisions and safety outcomes • Preparing survey requests, reviewing survey outputs, and validating survey data for design use • Attending client meetings and liaising with stakeholders to support project coordination and delivery
Doha North Local Roads & Drainage Programme | Hyder Consulting I worked on the Doha North Local Roads & Drainage Programme from the commencement of my role with Hyder Consulting in late 2013, contributing to the planning, design, and approval of multiple road infrastructure projects across Doha North. Responsibilities included: • Undertaking pavement design for all Doha North projects from 2014 onwards, in accordance with AASHTO and the Qatar Highway Design Manual (QHDM), and coordinating closely with Project Management Consultant (PMC) engineers, as well as internal traffic and geotechnical teams • Attending coordination meetings and liaising with statutory authorities to obtain approvals, including UPD, PEO, MME, PWA, local municipalities, and the Qatar Museums Authority • Designing and optimising vertical road profiles and producing earthworks cross-sections using AutoCAD Civil 3D • Designing, reviewing, and modifying various junction types, including signalised intersections, T-junctions, RIROs, and roundabouts, and amending road layouts as required • Preparing construction traffic diversion plans to maintain traffic flow during staged construction • Designing road signage and signboards using SignPro • Undertaking design cost impact assessments for variation works • Preparing and issuing gate-level building permit requests in response to PWA submissions • Preparing land acquisition request documentation • Producing site clearance drawings identifying assets within the road reserve requiring removal, relocation, or reuse • Preparing Technical Briefing Notes (TBNs) for Right of Way (RoW) encroachments and clearance, including documentation addressing discrepancies between RoW boundaries, Policy Plans, and Plot Identification Numbers (PINs) • Reviewing and checking topographic survey drawings and identifying discrepancies within the survey data • Assisting Project Managers with the preparation of gateway and stakeholder presentations
