Building the event-led growth engine at ClickUp. From 3 events a quarter → 1 event a week.

About

Hey, I'm Órla. 👋🏻 I lead ClickUp's community and field events strategy across EMEA and APAC, and I've built an event-led growth function that shouldn't work with a team our size, but does. In the past 12 months: 43 events, 26 cities, four continents. Not a single cookie-cutter experience. We went from 3-4 events a quarter to one a week, globally, by building the systems, playbooks, and team culture that make "scalable" and "personal" coexist. I also own complex, multi-market campaign strategies tailored to specific regions, because what works in London doesn't land in Singapore, and what resonates in Sydney falls flat in Dublin. Every market gets its own approach: localised messaging, region-specific audience targeting, and campaigns built around how people in that market actually buy. My philosophy: events are a leadership channel, not a logistics exercise. When you get the right 10-20 senior people in a room having real conversations, that's where pipeline, partnerships, and community compound. The ROI isn't always immediate, but it's always worth it. What I've learned building this: you don't need a massive team to outpace companies 10x your size. You need sharp people, obsessive processes, and the confidence to let AI and automation handle the work that doesn't need a human touch, so you can focus on the work that does. I talk about: event-led growth in SaaS, building lean high-output teams, multi-market campaign strategy, AI in marketing operations, and why the best marketing feels like community, not campaigns. Let's connect. I don't bite. 🫶

Experience

  • ClickUp ()
    • Senior Community Events Manager, EMEA & APAC
      Feb 2026 - Present · 6 mos

I lead ClickUp's community events strategy across EMEA and APAC, producing intimate, high-impact experiences at a pace that shouldn't be possible with a team our size. What that looks like in practice: → Took our event cadence from 3-4 per quarter to weekly, globally → Own end-to-end production of The Table, Secret Supper Series, and Brain Food formats → Built scalable playbooks and workflows (in ClickUp, obviously) that let us replicate quality across 26+ cities without starting from scratch each time → Use AI and Super Agents to eliminate the repetitive ops work so I can focus on what actually matters: the guest experience The philosophy is simple: events should feel human, even when they're running on systems. Every event is a room full of real people having real conversations, not a lead gen exercise with canapés. Results: consistently strong sourced and influenced influenced pipeline, and a growing community of senior leaders across EMEA and APAC who genuinely want to come back.

Achieved 100% attendance at a London Secret Supper during a full tube strike (still proud of that one). Designed and launched the event formats (including early iterations of the Secret Supper Series) that would become ClickUp's signature. Collaborated cross-functionally with Sales, Partnerships, and Campaign Ops to build integrated programmes targeting senior leadership personas. • Sales Administrator at CONEKT - Driving Brand Distribution
    Jun 2014 - May 2017 · 3 yrs

Digitised the entire field sales order process, replacing a paper-based system (reps literally posting handwritten orders back to HQ) with a fully online tablet-based ordering platform. Modernised the company website and owned monthly client reporting, internal sales forecasting, and new business pitch development. Three years of building systems that made other people's jobs easier, which, looking back, was the thread that runs through everything since.
