I researched, executed, and evaluated strategies to interpret the rich histories of the World Heritage Listed site, Fremantle Prison.
I took an opportunity in acting role to carry out activities relating to Heritage Policy and Practice, from running state conference planning meetings to presenting heritage guidelines in workshops around regional WA.
As a member of the Cultural Development team, I reviewed how Cultural Development can contribute to the City of Melville Disability Access and Inclusion Plan through Libraries and Museums offering social prescription services as well as other potential activities. I examined the delivery of Local History and recommended strategies to improve the service. I created a promotional strategy for Museum and Local History services that relates to significant events in Melville history as well as highlighted treasures of the collections.
In this role, I created guiding documents for museum operation including policies around collecting, interpretation, digitisation, and significance assessments and also developed the collection of objects, documents, and photographs, and collection management processes. I researched and documented the history of Royal Perth Hospital staff, buildings, and activities, and raised the profile of museum. In addition I supervised and trained volunteers and responded to research queries from both staff and the public.
