Focused on educating students about the integration of economic principles into the conservation and sustainable use of ecosystems. Guided students about the use of economic tools and instruments to make informed decisions about conservation, evaluate the value of ecosystem goods and services, and design cost-effective conservation strategies. The curriculum covered essential topics, such as the importance of property rights in conservation, the influence of markets and governments on resource management, and methods for valuing biodiversity and natural areas. Also explored the intersections of agriculture, forestry, tourism, and environmental conservation, and how to apply economic analysis to develop sustainable policies in both developed and developing countries.
Project: "Livestock farming in the Ili-Delta, Kazakhstan, under varied water flow – Effects on food security and adaption strategies" Part of the Working Group 3: Significance of livestock farming in the Ili-Delta for food security. The purpose of this WP is to assess the importance of livestock farming for the local population's nutrition from a household perspective. Responsible for Digitization and Analysis of the data on consumers and producers of livestock products in the Ili Delta. The research objective was to observe variation in production and consumption pattern of livestock products in the context of the varied water flow in the Ili Delta as a result of climate change. Presented results in the final workshop.
Led EHS/ESG advisory and environmental regulatory compliance across diverse industrial sectors, (Healthcare Facilities and Diagnostic Centers, Pharmaceutical manufacturing, Cement Manufacturing, and Construction Materials Extraction, Pharmaceuticals, and renewable energy) including banking and private equity. Conducted due diligence audits, site assessments, and liability evaluations for acquisitions, operations, divestments, and mergers, with extensive experience in M&A lender due diligence. Proficient in IFC/WB, CDC, and ADB standards, and industry-specific GIIP practices. Developed CAPA plans, provided post-audit guidance, and executed Phase I and II ESAs (ASTM E1527-13 & E1903-19). Supervised a team of junior analysts, managed project activities, and contributed to project acquisition.
As a Project Supervisor and fieldwork lead, spearheaded initiatives in industrial hygiene, toxicology, and public health management services. Developed field sampling SOPs and supervised fieldwork for various projects, ensuring data validation and quality assurance while engaging with clients to meet prescribed scopes. Reviewed client EHS reports and developed environmental and social mitigation plans to facilitate regulatory EHS and GIIP compliance. My role involved stakeholder engagement and consultation for foreign-funded projects, corresponding with clients, and assisting in meetings with program managers, regulatory authorities, and investors. Executed and developed stakeholder engagement plans, primarily for wind power projects and Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs).
