Since the advent of assistive technologies for blind individuals in Iran, I have been among the early adopters, driven by my passion and expertise in the technology sector. I became well-versed with these technologies and collaborated for years as a journalist specializing in assistive technologies with Iranian media. Additionally, I served as a technology consultant for NGOs and organizations dedicated to supporting people with disabilities. For the past ten years, I have actively advocated for and promoted digital accessibility in media and social networks. During this time, I have acquired the necessary expertise to implement digital accessibility at the organizational level. My efforts have included voluntary collaborations with many prominent Iranian companies to enhance digital accessibility, including Snapp, Tap30, and Taghche. Starting February 2024, I began my full-time role as a Digital Accessibility Specialist within the Diversity and Inclusion team at Divar, where I continue to pursue my mission of making technology accessible to all.
As a blind individual and a passionate advocate for digital accessibility for over a decade, I am part of the Diversity and Inclusion team at Divar. Our mission is to transform the platform into an inclusive space that everyone can use, regardless of their ethnic, racial, linguistic, or physical characteristics. In my role as a Digital Accessibility Specialist, I leverage my personal experience and deep understanding of accessibility standards like WCAG and ARIA, alongside principles of user experience and inclusive design, to identify and address accessibility issues. I collaborate closely with our developers and other teams to craft and implement effective solutions for accessibility challenges on Divar's website and app. Moreover, I am dedicated to fostering a work culture where accessibility is central, helping to embed it into the core practices of everyone working at Divar. Driven by my commitment to making the world a more accessible place for all, I am excited to contribute my expertise and personal insights to this important endeavor.
