As Surveillance Officer and Nominated Authority with ProQM on West Gate Tunnel, I released Hold Points across the full spectrum of major structures — elevated freeway viaducts and bridge structures, piers and headstocks, piled and spread footings, precast and cast in-situ concrete, reinforced soil and retaining walls, plus the tunnel structures themselves (cross passages, portal structures and road deck corbels). I then moved to the delivery side with Transurban on the same project as Client Representative — so I understand the commercial and program pressures behind every inspection, not just the spec. Currently Verification Manager on the M80 JV with MACA, leading onsite quality control across bridges, earthworks, pavements, ITS and drainage. Day to day this means developing VicRoads-aligned surveillance checklists for site coordinators, authoring practical quality procedures (crack/patch repair, curing methodology, quality alerts), and coaching field teams to reduce NCRs and rework before they cost time and money. Certified Lead Auditor (SAI Global, 2025), with deep working knowledge of VicRoads Standard Specifications, Australian Standards and MRPV requirements — plus hands-on command of the systems that run modern delivery: Aconex Field, InEight, Hexagon and RIB CX. • Lead onsite quality verification across all disciplines on the M80 JV — bridges, earthworks, pavements, ITS and drainage — acting as Nominated Authority for Hold Point release. • Author practical, VicRoads-aligned quality procedures and surveillance checklists (crack/patch repair, curing methodology, quality alerts) that translate spec requirements into something the field can actually execute and inspect against consistently. • Coach site coordinators and field teams to identify and resolve compliance issues early, driving down NCRs and rework before they hit the program. • Hold independent, evidence-based Hold Point decisions while balancing project budget and schedule — protecting the build without stalling the works. • Set the quality standard on a major road JV, embedding a get-it-right-first-time culture across the delivery team.
• Acted as Client Representative onsite during critical-path activities on West Gate Tunnel, representing Transurban across engineering/design, construction delivery, quality/verification, commercial/commissioning and traffic & safety teams. • Bring a rare end-to-end perspective — Tier 1 and Tier 2 contractor delivery, third-party verification and Nominated Authority, and client-side representation — to every critical decision onsite. • Apply that experience to time-sensitive go/no-go calls during critical-path activities, weighing program, compliance, commercial exposure and safety in real time to keep works moving without compromising the build. • Owned surveillance and verification of works across tunnel structures, bridges and viaducts, pavements and surface roads, and earthworks and retaining walls — plus specialist operations including portal and gantry installation and SPMT movements. • Coordinated across multiple delivery and TU teams to keep quality outcomes aligned with program milestones and commercial drivers. • Managed quality reporting and systems, giving the client a clear, evidence-based view of compliance and verification status throughout delivery.
• Acted as Nominated Authority across WGTP, MFU2, LXRA and NWPA — owning Hold Point release, surveillance and inspection, ITP review and development, and NCR/lot conformance management. • Seconded to West Gate Tunnel for a multi-year engagement, joining the existing verification team and working across the East, West and tunnel zones onsite, as well as off-site at the Benalla precast yard. • Released Hold Points across the full spectrum of major structures — elevated viaducts and bridges, piers and headstocks, piled and spread footings, precast and cast in-situ concrete, reinforced soil and retaining walls — plus tunnel structures including cross passages, portal structures and road deck corbels. • Audited concrete, precast and steel suppliers at source, verifying conformance before elements reached site and heading off non-conformances at the point they’re cheapest to fix. • Worked as solo Nominated Authority across other ProQM contracts, making independent, defensible verification decisions without a wider team to lean on.
