Experienced IT professional having worked in many sectors over the past 25 years; Retail, Manufacturing, Finance, Government, Utilities etc. Currently I am working as a Technical Programme Manager/Solution Architect on a project to migrate/virtualise a data centre which is due for closure. I have a broad range of experience and have worked in technical hands-on as well as management and team leading roles. I have worked on projects in an Agile/Kanban framework; on numerous Oracle ERP implementations, design of High Availability and Disaster Recovery for Oracle and SQL Server databases, data security and solutions for GDPR. I enjoy learning new skills and challenge myself to learn something new constantly. My current interests are in AWS cloud migration, virtualisation based on VMware Vsphere/NSX and migration to private cloud as well as Microsoft Azure. I also have a keen interest in Science and hold a PhD from Queen Mary University of London.
Working as a Technical Programme Manager and Solution Architect using aws to create a hybrid cloud data centre; migrating to VMWare, OCI, Autonomous Database and Azure public cloud. Designing solutions for access management and encryption to comply with GDPR. Project status reports to stakeholders to manage expectations, risk and targets. Holding workshops with technical, functional and product owners for planning and design. Establish and document methods for repeatability. Gather requirements, capacity planning, optimise for costs of licences, prioritise to deliver value, detailed planning for the cut-over process and handle communications for the migration process. I’ve worked on several other projects as both a Technical Programme Manager and Solution Architect. The following are successfully delivered projects (Design and execution): • Centralise database accounts for GDPR compliance by integration with Active Directory and RBAC. • Migration of Oracle ERP systems from Asia to the UK following the sale of Tesco Korea. • Migration of Oracle RMS from Asia to UK. • Transparent data encryption for Oracle database files. • Migration of on-premise workloads to AWS public cloud.
Upgrade of multi-tier eBS R12.1.3 on a 3 node Oracle RAC with cross site DR using Oracle data guard. Also upgrade of Oracle Retail and other applications at Sainsburys and Sainsburys Bank.
Migration of Oracle Retail to Exadata and the design/implementation of DR. Other projects include design of multi tenancy SQL Server 2012 fail-over clusters using always-on; Data center migration for both SQL Server and Oracle applications; Technical review of R12 and R11i Oracle eBS system; Migration of People-Soft to Exadata.
Initially worked on transition from Ford in US to Data centres in the UK. Went on to implement high availability solutions (Dataguard and Fast-Start Failover with ASM and Flashback); RAC as well as implementation of new applications based on SQL Server 2005/2008 on Windows clusters. Improvement of processes and use of OEM grid control to manage the systems.
Working on an 11i to R12 upgrade project. Delivered R12 apps dba course to clients.
