Responsible for the Distribution network in Kingston and St. Andrew.
My career spans 18 years in the power distribution systems. I was responsible for the day-to-day management and maintenance of the distribution network. Includes planning and execution of capital projects that helps to maintain a robust and reliable distribution system. Approximately 60,000 customers were served in Kingston and St. Andrew South area with a support system of 20 permanent staffs, temporary workers and approved contractors. This region has the most commercialized/industrialized customers in the island. Routine work activities include but are not limited to: 1. Responding to emergency calls 2. Replacement of poles and hardware 3. Street light maintenance 4. Vegetation management 5. Detail and hazard patrol of infrastructure 6. Capacitor maintenance 7. Transformer load management 8. Infrared scanning of conductor joints 9. Maintenance of line switches
