Graduate Biomedical Science student at the University of Surrey
Supported international student arrivals and departures by directing them to the correct shuttles and offering personalised, friendly assistance throughout their journey. Adapted quickly to changing schedules and worked collaboratively with colleagues to resolve unexpected challenges, ensuring a smooth, safe, and reassuring experience for all students.
Chromosomal Instability (CIN) Signature Analysis in Cancer Progression Investigated how CIN–associated gene expression signatures vary across tumour stages, using large‑scale patient datasets and computational analysis in R. Quantified CIN activity, performed statistical testing (Kruskal–Wallis, Wilcoxon, FDR correction), and generated visualisations to explore links between genomic instability and disease progression. Interpreted findings in the context of cancer biology, biomarker development, and translational research, demonstrating strong integration of theoretical knowledge with computational analysis.
Welcomed and supported prospective students by leading engaging lab tours and answering questions about the Biomedical Science programme and university life. Assisted visitors with hands‑on lab activities, helping create an interactive, supportive environment that showcased the department’s teaching, facilities, and student experience.
