Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, United States
I am entering my first year (MSAT-1) of the Accelerated Masters Athletic Training Program at the University of Pittsburgh. As a dedicated and adaptable student pursuing a career in Sports Medicine, I am committed to continuous learning and skill development on my path to becoming an athletic trainer.
During my clinical rotation with Mt. Lebanon High School, I worked with a variety of sports including boys and girls wrestling, boys and girls basketball, boys lacrosse, baseball, and softball. The experience involved assisting with evaluations and treatments for a wide range of athletic training needs. I also helped cover practices and games alongside my supervising athletic trainers and had the opportunity to assist with medical coverage at various WPIAL wrestling tournaments.
During my clinical rotation with Pitt’s baseball team, I worked primarily with pitchers on their rehabilitation and maintenance programs. A large part of the role involved serving as a key point of contact for daily arm care routines throughout practices. I also gained experience using a variety of therapeutic techniques such as scraping, cupping, and BFR routines. On clinic days, I assisted in facilitating athlete visits with Sports Medicine doctors.
