A mechanical engineer-in-training focused on medical devices and Arctic energy security; specialized in manufacturing, global engineering, forensic engineering, and bioengineering.
- Supported the development of new pipeline products through innovative design and rapid prototyping techniques, including 3D printing. - Designed parts for injection molding, applying design for manufacturing principles. - Developed and executed benchtop and pre-clinical testing procedures, collecting and analyzing data using statistical methods to author test reports. - Created engineering drawings and manufacturing work instructions, maintaining DHF documentation. - Developed validation plans and conducted V&V testing across mechanical, biological, and electrical domains. - Collaborated on manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives while contributing to intellectual property development through new concepts. - Conducted literature and intellectual property research, summarizing findings effectively. - Managed relationships with contract manufacturers and suppliers, ensuring effective communication and negotiation. - Assisted the quality engineering team with product complaints and maintained the QMS. - Mentored and managed junior engineers and interns to foster professional growth.
Creating, manufacturing and commercializing products that employ technologies invented by the surgeon team of the University Health Network (UHN) to improve outcomes of organ transplants. Recently, I’ve been working on the design and manufacturing of the XPort Lung Transport Device, which is being rolled out in a clinical trial involving 20 hospitals across 10 countries. * Participating in the design and development of new medical devices and in manufacturing products during the new product introduction phase * Creating solid CAD models, assemblies, and detailed component drawings using Solidworks * Determining the most appropriate manufacturing method for mechanical components, considering tolerances, cost, quantities, and lead times * Developing work instructions and assembly procedures for mechanical and electrical assemblies * Creating product specifications to meet customer requirements and reduce risks to patients * Developing jigs, fixtures and processes to assemble components * Contributing to the definition and specification of future designs * Participating in manufacturing activities (assembly and testing)
Nanosatellite technology development and testing Prior focus on ADCS (attitude determination and control system) and digital fluxgate magnetometer selection
