I am a Business Analyst at McKinsey & Company, joining the firm after completing my degree at UNSW as a Co-op Scholar. I graduated with First Class Honours, receiving a thesis score of 89 for my research with BlueScope Steel. My approach to problem-solving is grounded in 2.5 years of industry experience across Rio Tinto, Weir Minerals, and BlueScope Steel. Spending that time in heavy industry and high-stakes environments taught me how to bridge the gap between complex data and "on-the-ground" operational realities. I am at my best when I am translating technical insights into strategies that actually work in practice. I am driven by a curiosity for how large-scale operations function and a commitment to finding the most efficient ways to solve a challenge. Most importantly, I am a keen learner!
Completed my Honours Thesis project with BlueScope Steel in their Innovation Lab, investigating the interplay between metallurgy and polymer science to support product development and material performance improvements. Applying advanced materials characterisation techniques and analytical modelling, providing data-driven insights for innovation in steel processing and applications regarding COLORBOND Steel.
The UNSW Co-op Scholarship program offers students the opportunity to gain invaluable industry experience through 3x 6-month placements while pursuing their academic studies, fostering professional development and networking. Interning at Rio Tinto, Bluescope Steel and WEIR Minerals.
As a Carbon and Reduction Intern at Rio Tinto, I monitored the grid to assess the carbon footprint of aluminium production, focusing on data analysis to identify areas for improvement. My role involved implementing strategies to enhance efficiency and reduce emissions, contributing to the company’s commitment to sustainability and innovation in the aluminium industry.
As a research assistant at BlueScope Steel, I conducted laboratory experiments focused on improving Colorbond steel, independently reporting findings to the team. My role involved analysing data and collaborating on innovative solutions to enhance product performance and quality.
