The CAC's mission is to support children who have experienced sexual or severe physical abuse by offering a comprehensive network of advocates. This includes therapy, medical exams, courtroom preparation, victim advocacy, case management, and additional services to help children through their trauma. As a volunteer, I contribute by organizing community events, assisting with administrative tasks, and providing entertainment for children.
As a research assistant for Dr. Charles Price in the Department of Anthropology, I contribute to projects centered on Black identity, Rastafari identity, race, social movements, and community organizing. My responsibilities include developing Dr. Price’s personal website, editing academic articles, and assisting in the creation of a virtual museum dedicated to Rastafarian history and culture. Through this work, I engage in qualitative research, digital content development, and academic publishing.
In my current role as a Client Relations Specialist, I manage client outreach, oversee digital content creation, and develop the firm’s monthly newsletter. I also create and manage the firm’s TikTok content, using social media to enhance engagement. Additionally, I reach out to clients for feedback and reviews, helping to strengthen the firm’s reputation and improve client relationships. I also train new staff and contribute to refining client communication strategies. My role focuses on enhancing client engagement and expanding the firm’s digital presence.
As a paid legal intern, I gained hands-on experience in estate planning, criminal law, divorce, and personal injury cases. I assisted with case management, drafted legal documents, and conducted client intake, developing strong organizational and communication skills. I also had the opportunity to shadow Attorney Cotton in court, gaining firsthand experience in legal proceedings and client advocacy. Additionally, I handled reception duties, ensuring a professional and welcoming client experience.
HBUNC is a premier organization at UNC-Chapel Hill focused on connecting, informing, and entertaining the Black community. As VP, I assist in the production of weekly news and independent media projects while directing our community service initiatives to ensure we provide both content and impact.
Support the coordination and delivery of Extended Learning programs, including after-school initiatives, enrichment courses, and summer programs. Assist with scheduling, logistics, and instructor coordination to ensure smooth daily operations. Contribute to marketing and communications by creating website content, social media posts, and promotional materials. Provide administrative support through family and staff correspondence, inquiry management, and trip planning logistics. Engage directly with students by leading activities and fostering a welcoming, inclusive learning environment.
