Perform routine checks and calibrations on anesthesia machines and equipment Maintain and clean anesthesia machines by changing the CO2 absorber, refilling anesthetic agents, and replacing oxygen and air tanks Turn over operating rooms between cases including cleaning anesthesia machines, restocking supplies and medications Retrieve equipment and medications during surgeries at the anesthesia providers request Appropriately troubleshoot malfunctioning equipment in a time sensitive manner and contact biotechnology if necessary Assist anesthesiologist in the OR with sterile procedures during open heart surgeries Assist with transporting critically ill patients to and from the operating room Assist with the insertion of invasive monitoring lines and probes as needed Provide support during emergencies as directed by anesthesia providers including fluid resuscitation and running the rapid transfuser Participate in continuing education to stay up to date on current techniques, equipment, and safety
