- Managing SPCK’s Marketing and Publicity Department with direct responsibility for supervising three executives - Responsible for the planning and implementation of all marketing and publicity campaigns for new titles and seasonal promotions - Leading strategic development for individual imprints and high-profile author brands such as Janina Ramirez, John Guy and Mobo award-winner Guvna B - Responsible for preparing and managing the department’s budget - Developing close relationships with authors, key partners and trade customers - Briefing, managing, and working closely with freelancers on video, design and publicity projects - Writing copy for, and designing print and digital marketing materials - Maintaining consumer relationships through e-newsletters, social media and digital content development - Monitoring competitor activity and market developments to inspire in-house campaigns
- Researching and developing library holding checklists to facilitate direct approaches and following-up on leads by providing information on holdings gaps and offering discounts to encourage the completion of collections - Establishing and maintaining direct customer relationships by encouraging website orders and negotiating sales - Researching, identifying and approaching potential customers for our primary source collections and monograph series - Building and maintaining the in-house library Access database - Managing the company’s email subscriber rates and growing sales via social media - Implementing marketing campaigns for Pickering & Chatto sales, and the promotion of backlist titles and monograph series
