In achieving all of my degrees and accruing all of the varied skills I have now, what I know with certainty is that I wish to serve in a position where I can improve people’s lives. Whether that be by creating UI/UX formats that make information easier to access, processing data to reveal patterns and ease tensions, using storytelling to reveal people's inner strengths, making games that bring us together with friends and family, or simply meeting with people to help them reach their goals and bring a smile to their faces. My only path is to make lives better, and I have a plethora of skills I can lean on to do so. During my time in university, I won awards as Outstanding Senior and Outstanding Graduate Student for my game design work and focus on creating accessible games that help players reach catharsis. I have a published thesis on How Deep Realism in Game Supports Personal Catharsis, as well as a book review on consent published in the Journal of Gaming and Virtual Worlds I have hundreds of positive reviews from my current position at Red Door Escape Room Encinitas, where I have received praise for being “welcoming”, “kind”, “helpful”, and giving people a “great experience”. Many of these reviews mention teammates, as I always work to ensure that I elevate my teammates as much as I elevate myself. I acted as producer on an ARG that reached hundreds of players around the world. I spent three years as the Accountant of my university’s Student Government Association, where I worked with and maintained a Microsoft Access database with a MySQL backend, recording, processing and analyzing the data I gathered to improve student lives. Software: MS Excel, PyCharm, IntelliJ, Eclipse, Putty, Datagrip, Oracle SQL Developer, Microsoft Access, Matlab, Solidworks, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premiere Pro, Unreal Engine 4/5, Unity, Gamemaker, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Animate, Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe Illustrator, RenPy, VSCode, Figma, Resova Languages: OracleSQL, MySQL, Python, R, C, C++, Java, Javascript, HTML, CSS
Working to create incredible and immersive experiences for guests. I craft stories that pull people together into a communal experience, work as a team member to balance challenge with success throughout their time in our escape rooms, and make sure each and every guest has a magical experience. I also continually work to improve the flow of our rooms, ensuring that they stay updated and interesting for guests. In order to keep the rooms interesting, I also work to improve current puzzle designs as well as implement new puzzles to accomodate guest feedback and to address observed pain points.
Held office hours and hosted lab periods to provide help and bolster the knowledge of students in WPI’s Computer Science program
During this project, I iterated on the existing game design to better fit the intended player experience. In conjunction with this task, I created a completely overhauled version of the existing tutorial system; restructured and balanced existing systems for increased continuity and enjoyment; iterated on the NPC’s in-game, their background lore, and initial dialogue options; iterated on existing game level structure and asset cohesion; and participated in weekly QA testing to ensure player quality of life.
Streamlined and wrote script to increase player quality of life on specific features, as well as develop new interesting ones for players to engage with. Additionally, through this experience I worked with multiple unique, private, intra-company IDEs, which I was able to learn quickly and efficiently
Worked to maintain the safety of the children under my care, make calls home to their parents to check with satisfaction, and plan and lead activities/songs, including camp songs. Camps included: Discovery, Art, Ceramics, Pokemon, Skate, Itty Bitty Star Wars, Electronics, Archery
