I work at the intersection of finance, investing and sustainability, with a focus on scaling capital, business models and transformation. I am currently developing the Initiative for Scaling Blended Finance (ISBF) together with the Swiss Bankers Association and the UNEP Finance Initiative, aimed at mobilising institutional capital for investments in emerging and developing markets and strengthening Switzerland’s position as a leading hub for impact investing. Previously, I spent over 17 years building and transforming businesses, including leading sustainability at Deutsche Bank and co-developing a global trading platform. In parallel, I teach at vocational school level, translating economic and societal concepts into practical, decision-relevant insights — an approach that also shapes my advisory work. I advise organisations and investors on – scalable business and product development – digitisation of value chains – sustainable finance and impact investing
Society, Language and Communication
• Developing a strategic initiative with the Swiss Bankers Association and UNEP Finance Initiative to mobilise institutional capital for blended finance and strengthen Switzerland’s position as a leading hub for impact investing (ISBF) • Advised a global UN initiative (ARIC), in partnership with development banks and financial institutions, to mobilize private capital for climate resilience & adaptation projects in developing and emerging countries
• Developed vision, strategy and operating model for sustainable procurement and supply chains • Built and headed the ESG function for an annual spend volume of approx. 8 bn EUR • Designed and implemented policies, reports and regulatory frameworks • Made the bank the global pioneer among DAX40 and global financial services companies
• Restructured global vendor management, enhancing governance and leveraging innovative digital tooling • Engineered and implemented over 1,000 digital vendor balanced scorecards, called a step change by the Board and regulators • Led 20+ product-specific project teams to adapt and transition front-to-back operating models for corporate & investment banking in the post-Brexit era • Designed global remote supervision and records management frameworks • Developed and implemented target operating models for commercial loans and corporate treasury sales functions • Created multi-year roadmap for digitalisation of private wealth offering
• Built the global trading function for structured products on currencies and commodities from scratch, incl. business model design, front-to-back infrastructure, market risk management (FX, interest rates, precious metals) and product innovation for private and public markets (warrants, certificates, notes) • Led business expansion into Asia (Dubai, Hongkong, Singapore, Tokyo) and the USA • Achieved consistent market leadership in the world's largest and most competitive retail derivatives markets, Germany, Switzerland and Austria • Achieved and accelerated multi-million profitability
