An engineer with extensive experience in the oil and gas industry as a project engineer and with a specialization in pipe stress analysis. I have a high degree of learnability and have worked on nearly all aspects of the engineering, procurement, and construction process from the mechanical side.
Lead project engineer for multiple well pad, debottleneck, and maintenance projects. Responsible for advancements in modular well pad designs to greatly improve cost and delivery. Created cost estimates and schedules for project proposals. Led projects during the front-end engineering design, detailed engineering, and construction stages. Established stress department, developing in-house capabilities and work flows. Responsible for piping stress analysis for all projects. • Lead project engineer for up to $20MM well pad projects for Strathcona Resources and Connacher Oil and Gas. Created a majority of the engineering deliverables including cost estimates, schedules, and engineering drawings including P&IDs. • Procured equipment with an authorized limit of up to $250,000 for signing purchase orders. Evaluated equipment, materials, and field contractor bids to confirm all technical requirements were met. • Successfully executed over 20 maintenance projects as a project manager for the Strathcona Lindbergh SAGD facility. Created scoping documents, capital cost estimates, man-hour estimates, and initiated kick-off meetings. • Worked with drafting lead to establish workflows for stress analysis to reduce the amount of redesign and back drafting required. Created and took a minimalist approach to the report template, reducing the amount of time required while still containing all required information. • Developed tools and standards for mechanical designers to streamline piping design process. Used excel to create a tool to identify when expansion loops would be required during the preliminary stages of piping design. Created standards for guide spacing and maximum pipe spans between supports. • Contributed to company culture by organizing more than 10 company and charitable events including Christmas parties, Family Day parties, CANstruction, and coordinating Calgary Corporate Challenge (CCC).
Completed stress analysis on company's largest projects using CAESAR II software. Roles included mentoring new hires, reviewing stress reports, validating client pipe specifications, and dynamic analysis using AFT Impulse. • Lead stress engineer on CNOOC (formerly Nexen) Long Lake modular well pads. Optimized piping design working alongside mechanical designers and civil/structural engineers. • Stress engineer for $1.35B Cenovus Foster Creek Phase G project. Created critical line lists, modeled piping systems, and performed stress analysis for oil and water treatment systems. • Learned to use advanced engineering software CAESAR II, NozzlePRO, and AFT Impulse.
Assisted in development of robot to be used for non-destructive testing in municipal water pipes.
