Completed my second summer working for Barry and Lyn. Worked on multiple kiwi fruit orchards in Te Puke doing a range of jobs including fruit thinning, pruning, girdling and much more. Throughly enjoyed working outdoors both rain and shine, and met lots of amazing backpackers from around the world as well as local workers. Was also glad to receive more responsibility being able to work solo and longer hours as well as being able to take the initiative and assign myself jobs.
Came back for a second season of relief milking and farm hand work at Bushland Estate working for Shannon Featherstone. My preliminary job was relief milking. This involved running and operating the plant, milking one herd of 350 cows and organising another herd. I milked both morning and nights. Aside from relief milking, I had numerous other tasks such as setting up and organising pastures, moving stock, spraying weeds, and other daily farm maintenance
Worked for Barry Roderick and Lyn Govenlock on multiple kiwi fruit orchards in Te Puke. Joined a large team of workers made up of backpackers from all around the world as well as locals. My main tasks were fruit thinning, tipping, and pruning.
Began my first proper full time employment for Skyline Skyrides Rotorua. I joined a large team and worked as a Luge Operator and Safety Officer. My jobs included instructing and assisting customers, assisting chairlift operation, safety patrolling, and luge maintenance.
