Direct, empower and enable the Open Spaces Management Team. Employ a range of contractors to assist in our work. Identify and deliver projects improving basic service delivery and landscape/ asset improvements. Answer all land based public enquiries verbally or in writing. Contribute to all council outreach to explain and promote our work. Manage department budgets and all spending. Plan and help set future years’ budgets. Manage HR responsibilities including hiring and development and training of all departmental staff. Manage replacement programme of all vans, agricultural machinery and other equipment. Report daily to the Clerk and regularly to Parish Councillors at public meetings. Manage the Health and Safety of the department. Seek additional external funding for project work. Develop 5-year Land Management Plans and Biodiversity Action Plans for the parish. Nurture symbiotic partnerships with other local landowners.
Team leader responsible for effective delivery of all land management services across 43 public open spaces covering 155 acres in total, including designated nature reserves, public parks and informal green spaces.
