How do you make a factory truly intelligent — not just automated, but fully connected across every discipline, every lifecycle phase, and every stakeholder involved? That question has driven my work for over 25 years. My answer led to the creation of the Integrated Factory Modelling (IFM) methodology — a cross-platform convergence framework that connects logistics, buildings, MEP, and shopfloor into a single unified digital dataset, enabling manufacturers to manage the complete factory lifecycle from planning through operation. What started in Automotive — with OEMs and Tier 1 supply chains across EMEA, APAC, and the Americas — grew into a global practice spanning Food & Beverage, Semiconductor, Industrial Machinery, and further manufacturing sectors. Over 100 of the world's largest manufacturers have worked with this approach. At the core of my thinking is what I call the 3C principle: better Communication, closer Collaboration, and unified Coordination — not as buzzwords, but as a practical framework for aligning manufacturers, technology providers, and standards bodies around a shared operating model. I've had the privilege of bringing this thinking to international stages — Hannover Messe, SEMICON Taiwan, Autodesk University — and of contributing to the standards that will shape the next decade of manufacturing: as an influencer at VDA, buildingSMART, Metaverse Standards Forum, and AOUSD. I believe the next frontier of manufacturing competitiveness will be won by companies that master ecosystem coordination — not just technology adoption. That's the conversation I'm always happy to have.
