• Duties include development, design, validation, and performance measuring of new and existing combustion products to meet identified specifications, employing a wide range of research facilities, including isothermal model studies up to full scale combustion test furnaces. • Senior position within the department, completing large and more complex projects with high levels of responsibilities and minimum supervision. • Analysis of measured and observed performance criteria, employing knowledge of combustion chemistry, aerodynamics, fluid dynamics, and instrumentation, characteristics necessary for the effective direction of continued product development. • Compilation of comprehensive technical reports/papers, technical data sheets and standard design procedures. • Technical sales support, including formal presentations and test rig demonstrations, occasionally involving high levels of direct customer contact. • Problem solving and performance testing of installed combustion equipment at UK and overseas locations. • Selections of materials appropriate to combustion products, involving market and literature searching and investigation. • Hands on installation of combustion equipment to test facilities, including pipework, assemblies, fabrication, use of lifting equipment and operating within confined spaces • Design and upkeep of engineering programs for equipment selection, emission predictions and general engineering enquiries.
