I once worked in a hardware store where a large pipe cutter had ended up fifteen years in storage. My manager kept it as an artefact of sorts, but never managed to sell it. I mean, nobody had any use for such a large old tool anyway. Four months into my employment, a ship captain in dire need approached us. He had a sprung pipe in a tight corner that required an emergency fix. To his (and my boss') amazement I made some "design" changes to the cutter, attached it to a drill and I sold it to him. My manager bought me a bottle of the finest whisky and gave me a raise. Since then, I've gained international experience, worked from the office floor, metaphorically splashed in the gutter and explored the penthouse. I've nursed the disadvantaged once, built a real house twice and poured drinks thrice. I've also tutored classes, mentored students, evangelised technology and presented concepts. I've researched markets, developed software and deployed some rudimentary products. I served as project manager for my bachelor's thesis. Two teams got the highest grade. We brought custom t-shirts and handed out merch to the audience; they friggin' loved it. I also helped my father digitise his company while taking courses in business innovation. A while ago, I designed a new market ecosystem for a startup company; they received seed capital from a group of investors. I now use historical insight, technical precision, collaborative experience and archival expertise to safeguard our collective memory. I transform paper trails and forgotten records into accessible and searchable heritage. I preserve knowledge and experiences with a commitment to share across generations. I honour the stories entrusted to us and support the communities we serve. I protect personal data before pursuing digital reach. Because preservation is my first responsibility, access my life's work. If any of this resonates with you, I'd welcome hearing about your work. Your story might spark our next collaboration. Cheers! ~Ole
