I am a Senior Equity Trader at NBIM, where my role increasingly centers on execution strategy and advisory rather than pure trade handling. Advances in market structure, automation, and AI have fundamentally changed how equity orders are executed. Today, the trader’s value lies less in manual execution and more in designing, supervising, and intervening in execution processes — particularly for complex, high-risk, or high-impact trades. I work closely with portfolio managers to translate investment intent into execution strategies that balance liquidity, timing, signaling risk, and market conditions. My experience covers global equity markets, block and high-touch trading, algorithmic execution, counterparty management, and regulatory frameworks. As execution becomes more automated, human judgment becomes more valuable — especially when markets behave unexpectedly. I see the modern trader as a human-in-the-loop execution specialist, responsible for outcomes, not just processes.
