About

#OceanDiplomat, The Network Exorcist®, Photographer Having a shaved head apparently makes it easier to wear many hats. How you know me (or found me) will likely determine which of these aspects resonate most with you, and which will simply give you more insight into my persona and experiences. #OceanDiplomat / Ocean Conservation -------- I am changing the world, literally. Inspired while filming sharks in Fiji with IMAX legends Howard and Michele Hall, I went on to found COARE, which has become a leader among ocean conservation organizations, and I continue to serve as its volunteer Executive Director. Fluent in educational and policy matters, I am one of North America's leading experts in conservation policy, and have authored, edited, supported, and defended legislation in several States/cities across the U.S. and in Canada. I have testified before more legislative bodies regarding shark conservation and single-use plastic reduction than ANY other person. Whether it's bags, foam, or shark fins, few people in the WORLD know more. Data Network Design and Support / Network Security / Internet Security -------- Network engineer and information technology consultant with more than two decades of design experience. I specialize in best practices, documentation, troubleshooting, analyzing, and optimizing existing networks — and I offer network configuration recommendations and services. PCI/SOX compliance and security assessments, and attack and intrusion mitigation and analysis are also on the menu. For those of you drawn to bulletpoints: -Security and Infrastructure Expertise -Real-time Event Mitigation -Compliance Management -Infrastructure Documentation -Best Common Practice Development and Implementation -Network Configuration and Change Management / Change Review -Transition/Replacement/Relocation Project Management My goal: move packets around (speedily), while intelligently judging their worthiness and dearth of malice.
