Achievements: Restructured a failing Scrum process to achieve over 90% increase in productivity and 30% reduction in defect rates on TradeServ, a cloud (AWS) based microservices platform. Internally transferred to lead a global technology team to renovate equities pre-trade services and to support operation of existing technology. Project initiatives: With a strong focus on optimal resource utilisation globally, organised sprints to incrementally deliver the new system and maintain existing services to support BAU (Business As Usual) activities. Developed architectural guidelines and prescribed practices to optimize development efficiency and economy while maintaining a strong attention on quality. Mentored and coached team members and conducted weekly global cross platform training sessions to improve technical skills of developers in London, New York and Mumbai.
Internally transferred to develop and commission an electronic trading platform for credit derivatives. Key deliverables: Designed and implemented front end and server side frameworks and libraries to transparently integrate trading applications to the electronic trading infrastructure for credit derivatives. Developed the architecture of a real-time position keeping service. This architecture was flexible enough to accommodate evolving business requirements through out the development cycle. Delivered an extensible utility to control communication to external venues in case of emergencies. This includes visual monitors to display alerts and system state to minimise risks to the business.ย Developed processes and tools to reduce testing effort, improve quality assurance and lower risk of defects thus accelerating releases. Mentored and coached staff to use these systems effectively.
Recruited to develop and extend applications on Morgan Stanley's power and gas trading platform. Role highlights: Automated a number of power, gas and emissions trading business operations to simplify associated business processes, provide greater visibility and reduce overheads by 70%. Developed a system to calculate trade volumes for expiring future trades and book corresponding takedown trades automatically thus reducing the corresponding operational overhead on business. Enhanced the STP (Straight Through Processing) infrastructure for EMEA power, gas, emissions and freight trading by extending trade and market data feeds and trade capture applications.
EDF Trading is a leader in the international wholesale energy markets. It manages a large portfolio of assets which give it the ability to source, supply, transport, store, blend and convert physical commodities around the world. Hired to extend and maintain Company's ETRM (Energy Trading and Risk Management) technology ecosystem focusing on trade capture, systems integration and post-trade confirmations. Notable contributions: Developed FIX (Financial Information Exchange) adapters to interface ICE (Inter-continental Exchange) to the Firm's STP (Straight Through Processing) infrastructure reducing risk of errors in trade capture. Designed and implemented a distributed middleware and a multi-technology framework to integrate pricing models to the ETRM system enhancing its resilience, extensibility and scalability.
Merrill Lynch was a global investment firm which was acquired by Bank of America (NYSE: BAC) in January 2009. Head hunted to design and implement components for messaging systems used to integrate diverse financial information systems. Key deliverable: Developed a ETL (Extract Transform Load) framework to aggregate configuration of interfaces and gateways of the messaging infrastructure from diverse repositories into a cohesive SQL database.
