My teams ensure the platform performs reliably at scale — enabling us to create and operate Kubernetes clusters across Atlassian’s global infrastructure. One of my teams, MKR, helps product teams seamlessly provision multicloud (GCP and AWS) backing resources in a standardized, secure, scalable, and cost-effective way. Together, we’re shaping the foundation that allows Atlassian products to run efficiently and confidently at massive scale

    • Engineering Manager, Micros (PaaS, Platform Scalability)
      Oct 2022 - Oct 2023 · 1 yr 1 mo

PaaS Scale is a brand new team to ensure platform is capable of performing at high scale considering Atlassian organic growth. Building a brand new team in Cloud Infrastructure Org, setting up the right culture, process and tools in place and forming a high performance team from the scratch was an interesting experience from the beginning and still a long journey to go.

    • Engineering Manager, Micros (PaaS, Platform Core)
      Jun 2021 - Nov 2022 · 1 yr 6 mos

Atlassian has an internal Platform-as-a-Service that we call Micros. It is a set of capabilities that enable Atlassian engineers to deploy and operate services in AWS as quickly, easily, and safely as possible. The platform hosts over 1,000 services. The majority of Atlassian Cloud products are either partly or fully hosted on Micros. Micros is our orchestration system for automating the management, placement, scaling, and routing of containers. It uses the concepts of configuration-as-code, and immutable infrastructure, and encourages the design principle of Twelve-Factor Apps, which, when followed properly, yield more scalable and operationally mature systems. Micros is used for websites, as well as internal and external application services. The PaaS team, is the one I manage at Atlassian with around 20 engineers including Tech leads, shields, principals. https://www.atlassian.com/engineering/cloud-overview
