Extended the life of the Huntington field in the Central North Sea by 2 years, following successful negotiation of a new contract with FPSO providers Teekay.
Overall responsibility within E.ON E&P UK for all Partner-operated Production Assets in the UK Central North Sea including the UK’s 4th biggest oil & gas producing field, Elgin-Franklin. I lead a multi-function team to assist and challenge the Operators on a technical and commercial basis in order to gain maximum value from the assets for E.ON and the JV partnerships.
Responsible for managing E.ON’s only Operated oil field, with a capacity of 30,000 barrels of oil per day, and yearly OPEX budget of c£100M. Led a team of 14 equivalent full-time employees to deliver maximum value from the field and was accountable to both E.ON management and 3 other Joint Venture (JV) parties with equity interests in the field. Led the Asset through a challenging time where the gas export route was unavailable due to equipment failure, requiring simultaneous analysis of a number of different technical solutions aimed at securing robust future production profiles. Chaired Operating Committee and Technical Committee meetings Gained approval of both 2015 Work Plan and Budget Sought out and evaluated means of improving operational efficiency on the Voyageur Spirit Floating Production, Storage and Offtake (FPSO) Assisted in the technical and commercial evaluation of the potential development of the Maxwell oil & gas discovery beneath the Huntington field.
Worked closely with the Asset Manager to optimise the day-to-day running as well as long-term strategic management of the Huntington field. Initiated and led studies into Gas Reinjection and Scale Squeeze project. Coordinated the efforts of Subsurface and Drilling personnel to develop plans to optimise water injection and enhance hydrocarbon recovery from the field. Prepared materials for JV Partner committee meetings, delivered updates and followed up on actions. Regular communications with the Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) to agree and manage emissions thresholds.
Supporting the Exploration & Business Development function through data gathering, analysis and presentation. Evaluating and presenting new business opportunities from a technical, commercial, economic and strategic perspective. Market and competitor analysis, tracking deal metrics, preparation of internal and external briefing notes and presentations.
