• Develops resources and maintains effective relationships with major government, philanthropic, corporate, and foundation entities. Creates and implements moves management plans for entire portfolio. • Helps corporate and foundation donors accomplish their philanthropic goals and ambitions through a relationship with agency. • Makes direct, face-to-face solicitations, and assists the SOS Illinois board and other staff with their solicitation (e.g. provide portfolio development support, strategic counsel, and help with donor communications). • Solicits corporate sponsorship for fundraising events • Manages all aspects of grant fundraising program including research initiatives, calendar maintenance, cultivation, stewardship, and reporting. • Maintains balanced portfolio of existing and potential funders; Writes, edits and submits letters of inquiry, proposals, and reports that will support SOS Illinois’ programming • Collaborates with Director of Development to identify potential donors for major gifts referrals. • Collaborates with program staff on continuous implementation of programs, outcomes, logic models and evaluations and reviews in the needs of Programs/Operations.

Researches, writes, and analyzes proposals for grant solicitations that support SOS Children’s Villages Illinois fundraising, programs, and strategic plan objectives. Researches potential funders to identify and diversify the current foundation/corporation portfolio. Maintains relationships and networks with corporate, philanthropic, government, and foundation professionals for the purpose of stewardship and mission/organization success. Collaborates with program staff to review needs of SOS programs and families in order to pursue potential funding streams. Researches and collects data for the purpose for grants-work and advocacy. Writes, edits and submits letters of inquiry, proposals, and reports that support SOS Illinois’ mission and programs. Provides stewardship throughout life of all grants.
Oversees government relations and funding throughout the city, county, state and federal levels. Responsible for the submission of several large scale government grants. Develops and maintains corporate funding and volunteer events. Assists and advises in public relations, advertising, media outreach, and social media outreach. Assists and advises in direction of certain large fundraising events. Interacts constantly with myriad elected officials and such varied government agencies as CPS, CHA, DCEO, DFSS, and other city, county and state functions. Provides strategic thought throughout the organization on an ongoing, regular basis.
