Independently reported and communicated the key process metrics on a daily basis to engineering, production, maintenance, logistics, and management staff at the daily process meetings, as well as regularly initiating safety discussion topics. Analyzed critical manufacturing data and distributed reports on a weekly basis to engineering, production, and maintenance staff. Trained on Safety Analysis, Potential Problem Analysis, and Decision Analysis for several scenarios, including on evaluating whether changes to the industrial hygiene system affected the manufacturing process and evaluating options for upgrading the compressed air system. Expanded the use of the Globally Harmonized System for improving hazard communication and safety.
Independently conducted experiments on the combustion characteristics and efficiency in a heat-recirculating microreactor for a portable thermophotovoltaic power system. Gas chromatography analysis and a data acquisition system were developed in order to calculate the mass and energy balances and determine the combustion efficiency, radiant efficiency, and heat losses under various reaction conditions. Experimental outcomes and conclusions were presented as part of the Army Research Laboratory Summer Student Symposium, for which the presentation was awarded the Third Place prize.
