Nikos Spiridakis is an editor, director, and writer who grew up in LA, NYC, Connecticut, and Long Island, New York. He’s a member of the Motion Picture Editors Guild (IATSE 700), having worked as a sound designer at Sony Pictures Entertainment and 424 Post. Nikos was the Editor of the 2026 award-winning episodic pilot, "The Ex-Wives of Beverly Hills", and co-wrote/directed/edited the short film, "Mimi the Mime". Nikos began directing at age 10 when he came up with the idea for the Global Warming PSA, "Save It". He brought his vision to the screen with the guidance of Executive Producer Marshall Herskovitz, his mentor Gary Fleder, and his godfather, Tony Goldwyn (who also appeared in the PSA opposite Nikos' younger brother, Dimitri). It debuted on Participant Media's TakePart YouTube Channel, premiering at #2 for non-profits as a 1Sky PSA. A 30-second version was aired on CNN and MSNBC on the night of the October 2008 Presidential Debate. Another 60-second version was featured as a short on all 2009 TWC's DVD releases, including "The Reader" and "Zach and Miri". Due to the poignant and powerful message behind "Save It," Nikos became the Jr. Goodwill Ambassador of a Renewable Energy Organization at age 11, receiving his honor in a ceremony at the United Nations in New York. His PSA was featured by documentary director Josh Tickell at screenings of his film "Fuel," where Nikos also participated in an Earth Day panel discussion. He was selected as a guest speaker for the "L.A. IDEA Project" in the fall of 2009. Nikos' PSA was also shown the following year at the "Avatar Earth Day Celebration at the Nokia Center in Los Angeles, where Nikos appeared with James Cameron before 5,000 at-risk youths in attendance. Nikos spent his summers as a teen immersed in filmmaking at Camp Red at the Red Cam Studios in Los Angeles and at Manhattan Film Institute in Long Island, NY, where he directed and edited six short films and crewed for dozens of others. In 2018, he interned at Blumhouse Productions, followed by an internship at Sony Pictures Entertainment (2019), and worked on sound design for the Screen Gems release of" Black and Blue". Nikos was both the editor and a sound designer on the thesis film "Sideways" and graduated from UNCSA with a BFA in Filmmaking in May of 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic. His first studio job was on Sony Pictures' Screen Gems film "The Haunting in Wicker Park," and he ran post-production at MFI. Nikos is bi-coastal with residences in Brooklyn, NY, and Los Angeles, CA.
