My career started in research in computer vision/ML/AI domain. As I grew in engineering, challenges evolved to building up computing to support heavy computations needed for computer vision/ML/AI domains. Thus, I ended up leading teams that were building different software platforms for analytics/ML/AI executing in complex environments, mixing embedded, cloud, IoT, web and other computing environment (car/vehicle, hospital, FAB, factory – you name it…). Over time, I evolved to product/business leader focused on building businesses out of platforms and optimizing for different business and/or transformational goals in high-tech environment, managing both HW and SW products. ASML is a world leader in lithography, supplying FABs in the world with the most advanced DUV and EUV systems. To ensure our equipment is producing max good wafers per day, we have developed a wide range of application to boost imaging performance and process control. My product team is delivering a big data hybrid platform called Virtual Computing Platform (VCP) where all these apps run in FAB setup. To enable computational lithography and metrology, VCP connect to equipment to gather relevant data in real time, enable computing, storage, and abstraction services to tenant apps to execute on the platform in real time, and then closes the control loop with the equipment. It also supports big-data analytics for non-real-time analysis outside of the control loop. I am responsible for the lifecycle of lithography computing platform, including VCP and its predecessors.
