With over 36 years of experience in the insurance industry, including 30 years at Wilson M. Beck Insurance Services, I specialize in the design of sophisticated risk management and insurance solutions for the construction and related industries. My areas of expertise include insurance programs for heavy civil construction, highway and bridge contractors, general and trade contractors, aggregate and concrete producers, as well as developers, real estate owners, manufacturers, retailers, hospitality operators, and healthcare professionals. My long-standing involvement in construction associations and industry groups keeps me closely connected to the operational realities our clients face, allowing me to anticipate industry shifts and proactively address emerging risks. As regulatory frameworks evolve and technology accelerates change, today’s businesses face increasingly complex exposures—including environmental liabilities, cyber threats, and social engineering fraud. I work with clients to clearly identify these risks, determine which exposures can be transferred to insurance, and develop practical strategies for managing those that must remain within the business. I collaborate closely with clients to implement Risk Reduction Plans focused on minimizing both the frequency and severity of losses. This disciplined, proactive approach strengthens operational resilience, supports long-term financial performance, and enhances credibility with insurers and stakeholders alike. Beyond insurance, I am deeply committed to construction safety, mental wellness, and community involvement. I believe safer, healthier workplaces lead to stronger organizations and better outcomes for everyone involved. I take pride in connecting people, supporting industry initiatives, and giving back whenever possible. If clients, colleagues, or industry partners ever need guidance, perspective, or simply the right connection, I am always willing to help—or to point them to someone who can.
Active participation in construction associations keeps us ahead of the issues shaping the industries our clients work in. That insight allows us to be proactive—not reactive when structuring insurance, bonding, and risk management programs for construction businesses. Not all risk can be transferred to an insurance policy. Understanding your exposures and implementing a Risk Reduction Plan can significantly reduce—or even eliminate—risks that impact your bottom line. Let’s talk. We Care. We Help.
I am honoured to have been elected to the Board of Directors of the BC Stone, Sand & Gravel Association (BCSSGA) and to be actively involved with an organization dedicated to supporting the long‑term sustainability and economic vitality of British Columbia’s aggregate industry. The BCSSGA’s mission is to encourage government policies that support investment in the sustainable development of BC’s aggregate resources, facilitate the effective exchange of information across the industry, communicate the economic importance and environmentally responsible nature of aggregate operations to government and the public, and promote collaboration among mining‑related associations throughout Canada. My involvement with the BCSSGA provides direct value to my clients by offering meaningful insight into regulatory developments, environmental considerations, policy direction, and market pressures impacting aggregate producers and construction supply chains. This perspective allows me to help clients anticipate change, manage risk, and structure insurance, bonding, and risk management programs that are informed by industry realities rather than reactive to them. I am truly grateful for the opportunity to work alongside dedicated industry leaders and to contribute to an association that plays such an important role in supporting responsible resource development and the infrastructure that communities across British Columbia rely on.
