More about me: https://nikhil-rao20.github.io/ I'm a passionate and research-driven Computer Science student at RGUKT IIIT Nuzvid with a strong focus on Artificial Intelligence, particularly in medical imaging, deep learning, and vision-language models. My work centers on developing interpretable, efficient, and trustworthy AI systems for healthcare, combining technical depth with real-world relevance. I've collaborated with researchers from Stanford Medicine, IIT Kharagpur, IISc Bangalore, IISER Thiruvananthapuram, Harvard Medical School, and UESTC China, working on diverse topics like OCT segmentation, MRI physics, multitask model design, and foundation model alignment. I’ve also had the opportunity to lead high-impact projects such as CardioLens, which placed Top 3 at the Intel AI Hackathon at IIT Kharagpur, and a multi-modal chest X-ray classifier that ranked Top 22 globally at the MultiModal AI4TB challenge by Seoul National University. Alongside research, I serve as the President of the Alumni Cell at my university, where I successfully organized the first-ever alumni homecoming since 2008, managing 250+ volunteers and 350+ attendees. I'm now keen to explore AI policy, particularly at the intersection of safety, fairness, and healthcare deployment. I'm always open to collaborations, internships, or discussions around responsible AI and foundation model governance.
Developed various AI/ML, computer vision, and deep learning solutions in customer management, medical imaging, and transport domains.
