I have been working within the fitness industry for over 14 years. Initially as a successful personal trainer, and progressing through to my vocation in teaching. I have delivered Level 2 and 3 PT courses now for the last 10 years, across a broad range of governing bodies. In addition to this I have experience teaching a wide range of CPD courses including Exercise referral, Training older adults, Group studio cycling, Bootcamp and circuits, Kettlebells, Suspension training, Advanced fitness testing, Metabolic conditioning. I have taught workshops solely based on theory such as delivering the entire anatomy and physiology modules, and delivering physiology 2D for the degree modules. Alongside this theory modules relating to advanced nutrition, biomechanics etc. I have also managed a fitness lab carrying out tests on athletes such as VO2Max, Wingate testing, Blood lactate etc. On of my greatest strengths is striving to excel. I am very proficient at reflecting on my performance and devising a plan of how to improve. I am very self motivated to be the best at what I do. This has also stemmed from my personal life and goals. I have competed in sport since a young age, starting off as a footballer at the Manchester City youth academy. Following this I competed in martial arts before finding my feet in power sport. As a sprinter for Sale Harriers athletics club and Bury athletics club, I competed over 60m, 100m and 200m distances. Striving for improvement my pinnacle was taking a gold medal at the north west championships. After this my interests progressed into lifting based sport, where I did my first lifting competition in olympic weightlifting at the under 68kg weight class, competing in the clean and jerk, and the snatch movements. This moved forward onto me having a successful competitive era in Powerlifting, initially competing at under 75kg bodyweight with the BDFPA, and breaking two British records early on in the squat and the deadlift movements. Following on from this I progressed towards strongman competition competing at under 90kg bodyweight and winning Merseysides strongest man, Prestons strongest man and Boltons strongest man in my first season. I then competed in the national championships Galaxy strongman U80kg division at Bodypower expo, winning the car deadlift which was a big achievement for me. In addition to my sporting life I also enjoy playing piano in my spare time and try to excel in this as much as possible, having been self taught I work hard reflecting on my own performance and improving.
